Grant Application Instructions
Upland Heritage is pleased to announce that a total of $10,000 will be awarded towards the 2024 Restoration Grants. Grants up to a maximum of $3000 each will be awarded for up to 50% of the restoration or repair cost on each selected project. Since grants are awarded on a matching funds basis, this could equate to well over $187,000 invested back into Uplands’ historical structures since the program began 24 years ago.
Upland Heritage is a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging the appreciation and maintenance of historical structures built within the Upland community. Proceeds from the Upland Heritage biennial Vintage Home Tours fund this grant program to aid and support owners of historic homes that are fifty three years old and older.
Applications are available to anyone who has a project to improve a structure listed in the Upland Historical Survey. Structures built prior to 1969 must have historical and or architectural significance with an Upland postal address. Applicants do not have to be members of Upland Heritage.
Projects under consideration may include exterior or interior restoration or repair, structural restoration, painting, or roofing. Applications should be limited to ONE selected project, but three applications per home are permitted. One application per project PLEASE!
Applications and guidelines will be available beginning September 25, 2023 at Upland City Hall as well as Uplandheritage.org. Applications must be completed and returned no later than October 31st to Upland Heritage, Attn: Grant Committee P.O. Box 1828, Upland CA 91785.
Within four to six weeks of the application submission deadline, a panel of qualified individuals from outside of Upland Heritage and the Upland area will review the applications and make on-site visits to select the projects to be funded. Upland Heritage will announce the results at our General Meeting/Holiday Progressive Dinner and respond to all applicants by December 16, 2023.
