History

Upland Heritage was originally founded in 1989 as the Upland Historical Preservation Society, by a group of citizens concerned with the destruction of Upland's historic homes and buildings.  Avid preservationists walked the neighborhoods to garner support to establish the Society.  The goals of the Society were to initiate a historic survey; form historic districts;get important districts and locations, such as Euclid Avenue; on the Local and National Registers; bring the Mills Act to Upland; provide educational materials for homeowners and businesses and to provide workshops to teach about historic preservation.  The Upland Historical Preservation Society, now the Upland Heritage, has done all of these things and so much more.
